Jeff Fowler, a retired U.S. Navy vice admiral, has been named president of Chantilly, Virginia-based government services contractor American Operations Corp.
AOC said the 32-year Navy veteran will oversee the company’s business development and operations in his new role.
“Fowler’s promotion to this new leadership position of President is an important step for the future of our family-owned company,” said L. Frank Field, AOC co-founder and chairman.
Fowler previously served as CEO and president of the AOC Connect business organization and CEO of PAE ISR, a joint venture between PAE and AOC .
He also held a senior vice president role at Strayer University, which offers higher education for working adults.
His military career includes time as commanding officer of USS Charlotte; commander of Submarine Squadron Three’s fast-attack, nuclear-powered submarines; commander of the Navy Recruiting Command; and superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy.
