Julie Duffy, a 20-year Textron veteran, has been appointed executive vice president of human resources at the Providence, Rhode Island-based defense and industrial conglomerate.
She will report directly to Chairman and CEO Scott Donnelly and succeeds Cheryl Johnson, who held the HR EVP position over the past five years, Textron said Monday.
Duffy is a member of the company’s benefits committee and managed corporate legal functions in her previous role as VP and deputy general counsel for litigation.
In that capacity, she also helped develop, implement and standardize company-wide HR policies as well as provided legal advice on employment and benefits matters.
Before she joined Textron in 1997,  Duffy served as a commercial and employment litigation associate at law firm Pillsbury Winthrop‘s office in Los Angeles.
