Attila Freska, Securiport chief operating officer, talked about Securiport’s experience and insights on border security during a panel discussion on external and internal land border challenges at the 2017 World Border Security Congress.
Securiport said Thursday the panel explored how external land borders pose challenges on efforts to mitigate cross border organized crime, human trafficking, smuggling and mass migration.
The panel also discussed the way internal land borders such as airports have become a focus of terrorist threat or illegal travelers.
The discussion also touched on global challenges as well as strategies and technologies that can help boost border security, Securiport noted.
The annual World Border Security Congress in Morocco works to provide a multi-jurisdictional transnational platform for border protection, management and security industry policy makers and practitioners.
