Cubic‘s mission solutions business will supply man-portable Common Data Link systems to the U.S. Navy under an estimated $20 million contract in support of the Carrier and Air Integration Program Office’s Tactical Mobile program.
The company said Wednesday the award from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command covers development, tests, documentation and delivery of PCDL systems in efforts to provide expeditionary ground support for maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft.
Mike Twyman, president of Cubic Mission Solutions, said the company will integrate its Mantis wideband CDL ground terminals, the TeraLogics subsidiary’s Unified Video full-motion video management technology and DTECH Labs‘ Mobile Modular Micro-Secure Enclave tactical networking hardware for the offering to SPAWAR.
Cubic noted the contract’s 18-month base period of performance is dedicated to PCDL procurement while the four one-year option periods are for production and engineering services.
PCDL is a subsystem of TacMobile that works to facilitate a connection for the transmission of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance data to maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft.
