Parsons has won two 2016 Small Business Industry Awards from NASA in recognition of its efforts to support small businesses through the Facility Construction, Engineering, and Technical Services contract with the agency’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland.
The company received the Large Business Prime Contractor of the Year and the Mentor-Protege Agreement of the Year Award for its work at Goddard, Parsons said Tuesday.
“Parsons is grateful to NASA for its continued recognition of our small business program,†said Carey Smith, who joined Parsons in November as president of the company’s U.S. federal business unit.
The engineering services contractor works to identify small businesses that could help support its federal contracts and provide mentoring and training assistance to such businesses through its small business program.
Parsons has collaborated with approximately 50 small businesses, such as East-West Printing and Barco Enterprises, under the FaCETS II contract since 2011.
