Mona Bates works for Raytheon‘s Integrated Defense Systems business unit where she serves as the chief information officer and vice president of Information Technology.
A 17-year IT veteran, Bates has held multiple senior leadership positions with increasing responsibilities and led IT programs both in the commercial and government sectors including the Defense Department, Missile Defense Agency and Verizon.
She has helped merge multiple contracts to create the MDA Enterprise IT Services organization and provided new systems for users in classified and unclassified domains as well as provided network services to Verizon’s global enterprise.
Bates also led IT strategy and architecture at Raytheon’s Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) division and chaired its Engineering Automation Council that provided a multi-business, multidiscipline collaborative forum to foster standardized engineering system development across the enterprise.
She also holds a bachelor’s degree in computer networking from Regis University, where she graduated as a magna cum laude, and a master’s degree in IT management from the University of Colorado Springs. Bates is also a certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practitioner.
