ISC has added eight government and industry professionals to the nonprofit organization’s U.S. Government Advisory Council.
Members of the council advise the ISC executive management team on cybersecurity-related government policies and programs as well as professional certification matters, ISC said Tuesday.
The USGACÂ also sponsors community outreach initiatives such as the ISC Government Information Security Leadership Awards, the U.S. Government Advisory Council Executive Writers Bureau and the CyberSecureGov annual training event, the nonprofit added.
New appointees include:
- Devon Bryan, executive vice president and chief information security officer of the Federal Reserve System and co-founder and president of the International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals
- Renee Forney, acting deputy chief information officer of cybersecurity at the Energy Department
- Stephanie Keith, chief of the cyber workforce strategy and policy division at the Defense Department
- Shaun Khalfan, chief systems security officer of the Customs and Border Protection
- Christopher Lowe, chief information security officer of the Agriculture Department
- Christina Phibbs, lead cyber security engineer at Mitre Corp.
- Michael Stoner, chief information security officer of a civilian agency
- Leo Wong, chief information security officer of the Federal Communications Commission
“I am confident in this group’s collective ability to represent the needs of an increasingly diverse workforce as we endeavor to build and nurture the rapid growth of cybersecurity within government,” said Dan Waddell, managing director of North America region and director of U.S. government affairs at ISC.
