Thomas Vecchiolla serves as president of Raytheon International Inc., where he is responsible for the company’s sales and marketing programs worldwide.
Vecchiolla was previously the vice president of business development and strategy for Raytheon integrated defense systems after he served as director of strategy and government relations and as director of Naval programs for Raytheon IDS.
He served as VP of government programs for Commerce One e-Government solutions before he joined Raytheon in 2002.
Prior to joining the private sector, Vecchiolla was a legislative assistant for national security and military affairs to Sen. Olympia Snowe, then chair of the Seapower Subcommittee on the Senate Armed Services Committee.
He was also a career naval officer and a designated Defense Department acquisition professional, a commanding officer of a helicopter squadron in San Diego, California, and an aviator for the U.S. Navy.
Vecchiolla earned his master’s degree in systems management from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in physics from the United States Naval Academy.
