John Martinez serves as vice president and general counsel for Raytheon’s intelligence, information and services business segment.
Martinez previously served as the segment’s chief cybersecurity and privacy counsel for cybersecurity and special missions.
He also served as senior counsel for the IIS segment’s intelligence and Earth observation and systems modernization and services mission areas.
From 2010 to 2011, he served as the deputy general counsel for intelligence at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, where he provided legal advice on intelligence and national security law, intelligence collection and analysis, covert action, international relations and litigation issues.
Before he joined ODNI, Martinez was the chief of the Director’s Review Group within the CIA between 2002 and 2010 after his tenure as chief of the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center High-Value Detainee Prosecution task force.
He is also a former litigation associate with New York City-based law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP and held that role from February 2001 to November 2002.
Martinez holds a juris doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science at Pennsylvania State University.
