Bechtel CEO Bill Dudley has received an honorary doctorate from Purdue University.

Dudley holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Purdue, Bechtel said Friday.

He was named CEO of Bechtel in 2014 after time as president and chief operating officer of the company.

The 34-year Bechtel veteran has served on the company’s board of directors since 2000.

Dudley is also on Purdue University’s board of the Engineering Advisory Council.
