The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers has chosen Marshall Greenspan, a five-decade veteran of Northrop Grumman, to receive IEEE’s 2015 Dennis J. Picard Medal for Radar Technologies and Applications.
Northrop said Wednesday that Greenspan will accept the medal at an IEEE awards ceremony gala that will be held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York on June 20.
During his time at Northrop, Greenspan has helped engineer radar modes for A6-E attack planes that the company built for the U.S. Navy.
He also worked to help the company develop airborne radar technologies designed to transmit and receive spectral, temporal and spatial data in a radio frequency environment.
Greenspan previously won a George J. Mead Medal for Engineering Achievement, an AESS Warren D. White Award for Excellence in Radar Engineering from IEEE and a Lifetime Achievement Award from Northrop’s electronic systems sector.
