The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has given its highest design award to Jacobs for the company’s work on the $28 million Mission Training Complex at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Jacobs conceptualized, engineered and oversaw construction of the 137,000-square-foot LEED facility, which received merit and excellence awards in 2013 from the American Institute of Architects, Jacobs said Tuesday.
The combat training center has simulation operations centers, modern classrooms and work cells with high windows designed to allow natural lighting.
“We are honored to be recognized by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for our work at Fort Bragg and pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to our client’s mission and goals by providing them this facility,†said Tom McDuffie, Jacobs group vice president.
