Siemens will collaborate with a medical facility in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to train and educate healthcare professionals on how to use technology in their work to diagnose, detect and treat illnesses.
The company and the Specialized Medical Center aim to extend the skills and capabilities of healthcare workers and to extend SMC’s reputation with citizens in Saudi Arabia, Siemens said Monday.
SMC has more than 500 beds, an out-patient department with 200 specialty clinics with more than 300 physicians that are mostly board certified from North America and Europe.
Arja Talakar, CEO of Siemens Saudi Arabia, said the partnership’s goal is to “raise the quality and productivity of healthcare services across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
Siemens will equip SMC with technology products such as the Aera Magnetic Resonance Imaging, the Somatom AS 20 Computerized Tomography and the ACUSON X 150 Ultra Sound systems.
Dr. Khaled Al Sebaiay, CEO of SMC, and Mr. Masfer Alshardan, an account manager at Siemens healthcare Saudi Arabia, signed the collaboration agreement Wednesday at the center.
“With our partner E.A. Juffali Brothers we are committed to support the sustainable healthcare development in the kingdom by providing training and education programs,” Talakar said.
