Kim Stevenson, corporate vice president and chief information officer of Intel, has been appointed to the board of directors at enterprise data management firm Cloudera.
“Kim’s experience and strategic role as CIO of Intel are particularly valuable as she represents the voice of the customer and has a deep understanding of how data and insight can transform businesses,” Tom Reilly, Cloudera CEO, said Monday.
Stevenson, who is also a board member at Riverbed Technology, previously served as Intel’s VP and general manager for global IT operations and services.
She also worked on technology and marketing at EDS, Hewlett-Packard and IBM.
Cloudera and Intel have an ongoing technology and business collaboration to bring Apache Hadoop products to market, with $740 million invested in the development of open source Hadoop solutions.
Stevenson said the two companies are also looking into the development of enterprise data hubs to centralize storage and analysis of big data.
“I look forward to working with the Cloudera board and management team to pursue this substantial growth opportunity,” Stevenson said.
