As CA Technologies senior vice president for public sector sales, John Borghard is responsible for the firm’s sales of cloud computing, software as a service, virtualization, on premise solutions and other offerings to federal, state and local government customers.
He has held a number of leadership positions within the company and has spent around 20 years with the firm across two stints of work there.
Since rejoining CA in 2007, Borghard “built out” the firm’s state and local sales organization as VP for state and local government sales before elevating to hold responsibility for complex renewals within North America.
He also works with the North American senior management team to develop the company’s Enterprise License Agreements with its key customers, CA said.
Borghard first joined CA in the late 1980s as a sales executive and over 13Â years, grew to have responsibility for more than $550 million in revenue and more than 1,000 employees as general manager and SVP of the federal systems group.
He would go on to serve as president and chief operating officer at Marketswitch Corp., where CA said he helped generate an “eightfold increase” in end-user sales during his time at the decisioning software provider.
In that role, Borghard would manage the operations of the firm’s business development, information technology, marketing, sales, pre-sales and services.
He later served as SVP of sales for business service management solution provider Managed Objects‘ Americas region, where CA said he helped the company generate an annual sales increase of 38 percent.
