Motorola Solutions and Ohio’s Chardon Area Schools have launched a program to connect school district staff with first responders in their area via radios in case of an emergency.
Under the SchoolSAFE Solution project, Motorola distributed 250 Motorola ASTRO 25 and MOTOTRBO radios to the personnel at 10 Chardon schools, the company announced Thursday.
“Schools are an instrumental part of our communities and Motorola Solutions is pleased to be working with Chardon Area Schools and SchoolSAFE on this innovative communications solution to help build an even safer environment for teachers, students and staff,” said Mark Kroh, Motorola vice president of North America Channels.
The two parties conducted interoperable radio training Thursday on communications procedures and incident control best practices with the schools’ staff and local public safety officials.
