A group pitching a method that works to consolidate related governmentwide services into one cross-agency entity says the concept could work for survivors of hurricanes and superstorms, NextGov reported Thursday.
Joseph Marks writes that organizers of the proposed Smart Lean Government foresee agencies using shared technologies and management systems.
“I think (disaster survivors) would be very happy if, with one request, they could take care of their healthcare needs, their employment needs and their transportation needs,†Casewise Systems Senior Strategic Adviser Mike Dunham, one of Smart Lean’s organizers, told Nextgov.

“If you take away the need to go and interface with numerous agencies to get services, people would be very happy with that,†he added.
Dunham, a former chief enterprise architect for the Treasury Department, said he and other former federal information technology leaders have finalized developing the concept.
The group has now moved on to fill the “white spaces†that hinder communication between stakeholders and prevent implementation, and has started refining the nuances of personalized government services to protect citizens’ privacy, he added.
