Chris Smith  - Accenture, Executivemosaic

Chris Smith serves as vice president of technology for the government solutions business at AT&T, a role the company announced him for in late 2013.

In this position, Smith leads 175 technologists that develop products and services for the telecommunications provider’s federal agency customers.

The 25-year federal market veteran previously served as U.S. federal chief technology and innovation officer at Accenture, where he worked to develop the technology agenda for Accenture’s federal business and led services to federal clients in areas such as cloud computing, big data, logistics and supply chain and cost reduction.

Prior to joining Accenture, Smith served as the chief information officer of the Agriculture Department, where he led that agency’s transition to cloud computing.

He also served in senior positions with the General Services Administration, the Internal Revenue Service and the Air National Guard.

The retired reserve Air Force communications officer was named Federal CIO of the Year by Government Executive magazine and was selected as a Federal 100 honoree by Federal Computer Week magazine in 2012 and 2011.

Smith was also named a premier 100 honoree by Computer World magazine in 2012.

He received his B.A. and M.P.A. from the University of South Florida and also holds a master’s degree in management information systems from George Washington University.
