L3 Technologies and Microsoft have signed a five-year strategic collaboration agreement that lets L3 use the Azure Government cloud platform to optimize its information technology processes worldwide.
L3 said Tuesday it will implement the technology in an effort to address the defense company’s computing, storage power, compliance and security requirements.
Microsoft designed its cloud system for U.S. government customers and has obtained more than 70 certifications and attestations related to the platform.
Christopher Kubasik, L3 president and CEO, said the company aims to manage complex IT workload, shared services and enterprise systems that support its business operations with Azure Government.
Judson Althoff, executive vice president of Microsoft’s worldwide commercial business, noted that L3 currently uses the Microsoft Office 365 for US Government and Dynamics 365 Government platforms.
Althoff added the agreement provides L3 access to Microsoft’s entire portfolio of government cloud tools.
