The Defense Department and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence have publicly released their fiscal 2019 budget requests for their respective intelligence initiatives.
DoD said Tuesday it has requested a top-line budget of $21.2 billion to support its Military Intelligence Program.
The budget both includes the MIP base budget and allocation for overseas contingency operations, the Pentagon noted.
ODNI said in its Tuesday news release that it has proposed to allocate $59.9 billion for the National Intelligence Program for the next fiscal year, up from $57.7 billion the agency requested for fiscal 2018.
The agencies’ combined proposed budgets to support intelligence programs in fiscal 2019 would amount to approximately $81.1 billion.
