Saab has secured a two-year contract to build mass field fielding platforms for South Africa’s national defense force.
The company said Monday it will provide a 200-man system consists of expandable kitchen, reefer and utility units along with a 50-man system comprised of a fully equipped expandable unit and water storage bladders.
Both systems will feature diesel fired technology-based grillers, convection ovens and boiling pans designed to help the South African military reduce usage of liquefied petroleum gas.
Saab has built field facilities and camp sites, shelter and portable modules for military customers.
