Unisys has secured a task order of an undisclosed value to support the migration of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission‘s computing operations and applications to a cloud infrastructure.
The company said Monday it will implement a system to transition NRC workloads to the cloud and help operate and maintain the agency’s cloud-based computing environment.
The task order was issued under the Interior Department‘s Foundation Cloud Hosting Services contract.
Gary Wang, vice president of cloud and infrastructure services at Unisys’ federal business unit, said the company looks to apply its experience as a government cloud services provider to help NRC address cloud migration goals.
Unisys aims to help the agency secure and run high-performance information technology applications without a need to invest extensive capital on IT resources.
The company also migrated DOI’s financial management system and General Services Administration‘s email and collaboration platform to the cloud.
