Raytheon has secured a $54.2 million delivery order to repair an infrared technology that works to help the U.S. Navy‘s F/A-18 fighter pilots locate and designate targets.
The Defense Department said Tuesday the order covers Advanced Targeting Forward Looking Infrared System repair services and DoD expects the company to finish work in December 2019.
The full obligated amount is from the Navy’s fiscal 2018Â working capital funds and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
ATFLIR is equipped with electro-optical and infrared sensors designed to recognize threats at a range of up to 40 nautical miles and at an altitude of more than 50,000 feet.
