Josh Douglas, Raytheon‘s chief strategy officer for cyber services, has listed the common errors organizations commit as they migrate to a cloud computing platform.
Douglas said in a press release published Tuesday that the errors include the failure to check old code for vulnerabilities, segregate systems and conduct red-teaming activities, where security consultants attempt to breach systems to unveil weaknesses.
He added that organizations should also implement two-factor authentication in their cloud servers to help deter cyber attacks and compel hackers to use more sophisticated measures.
The statement comes after separate incidents of hacking into the remote cloud platforms of companies such as Deloitte, Verizon and Deep Root Analytics.
Douglas said thar risks associated with cloud computing should not prevent businesses from moving to the cloud.
Companies that experience cybersecurity problems tend to “over-correct” with strict security measures, which could hinder business growth, Douglas noted.
