TFab Defense Systems has received a potential $15.4 million contract to provide Minotaur mission system workstations, or PODs, and integration tools for the U.S. Coast Guard‘s HC-144B Ocean Sentry surveillance aircraft.
The Coast Guard said Thursday the contract’s $7.5 million base value will cover the production of eight integration kits and 16 PODs designed to manage aircraft mission data and communications.
The contract also contains an option for TFab Defense to manufacture an additional 24 workstation units and integration equipment.
Each HC-144 aircraft will be integrated with two PODs and integration efforts will take place at the Aviation Logistics Center in North Carolina, the Coast Guard added.
Ocean Sentry is a fixed-wing, turboprop platform designed to operate for more than 10 hours and locate objects across vast search areas during maritime patrol, search-and-rescue, disaster and interdiction missions.
TFab Defense operates as a Tyonek Manufacturing Group subsidiary and manufactures technology products needed to develop missile, aviation and ground systems components.
