Battelle has received a three-year, $13.8 million task order to provide training support to the National Guard Bureau‘s Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction Division.
The nonproft organization said Wednesday it will help train WMD and chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives response teams under the task order.
The order falls under the Defense Technical Information Center’s Homeland Defense & Security multiple-award contract.
Battelle will also develop CBRNE and WMD elimination exercises and after-action reports; create and administer training courses; evaluate training effectiveness; and perform technical and analytical assessments to support CBRNE response operations during natural or man-made disasters.
The NGB and the Defense Department have formed multiple first responder teams to carry out casualty search and extraction; emergency medical operations; and mass casualty decontamination during the release of CBRNE materials in U.S.
