DigitalGlobe will introduce a premium monitoring service offering for customers to access current satellite images of worldwide locations from multiple commercial sources to obtain information on changes that occur within clients’ areas of interest.
The SecureWatch Sites service is meant to help customers view at least petabytes of imagery data from DigitalGlobe’s satellite constellation as well as SI Imaging Services’ KOMPSAT-3 and KOMPSAT-3a satellites, DigitalGlobe said Monday.
DigitalGlobe added it will incorporate both the GeoNews and Human Landscape platforms from the company Radiant subsidiary into the web-based subscription service to help provide context on satellite imagery data.
The company will release the SecureWatch Sites monitoring package along with additional Human Landscape layers as premium options for subscribers beginning in the latter half of the year and launch the GeoNews-based service in the summer of 2017.
Dan Jablonsky, senior vice president and general manager of DigitalGlobe’s defense and intelligence business, said the integration of the company’s imagery with data collected from various partners will help clients gain a multi-dimensional view of events.
