Palo Alto Networks has begun to offer its virtualized firewall on Microsoft‘s Azure Government Cloud platform in a move to help public sector customers protect their applications and data in the cloud.
Microsoft said Monday that Palo Alto Networks’ VM-Series firewall works to analyze all traffic in a single pass to determine application identity, content and user identity.
The virtualized firewall is designed to address various use cases such as hybrid cloud environments, segmentation gateways and internet gateways.
Microsoft added the VM-Series on Azure Government will work to help agencies identify and control applications in use; authorize or deny applications and user access; block known and unknown cyber threats; automate security deployment and policy updates; and manage policy consistency across virtual and physical firewalls.
Azure Government Cloud is a physically isolated instance of Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform and is designed for public sector customers.
