DHS said Tuesday each contract is worth up to $750,000 and covers the development of a prototype based on technologies demonstrated during the first phase of the SBIR program, which ended in November 2016.
The contracts fund projects in areas such as cybersecurity, internet of things, blockchain, identity management, flood reporting and first responder technology, among others.
The awardees are:

DHS’ science and technology directorate launched the SBIR program in 2004 to foster the participation of U.S. small businesses in federal research and development initiatives as well as increase private sector commercialization of SBIR-funded technologies.
