Raytheon Gets Navy Airborne Targeting System Order Modification - top government contractors - best government contracting eventRaytheon will provide seven multi-spectral targeting systems in D configuration to the U.S. Navy under a $19.2 million modification to a previously awarded job order.

The Defense Department said Tuesday the MTS airborne sensor works to provide long-range surveillance, high altitude target acquisition, tracking, and range-finding capability to military users.

The technology is designed to adapt to future updates and incorporates multiple fields of view, electronic zoom and multimode video tracking.

Raytheon will perform work in McKinney, Texas, through December 2018.

The Navy obligated the full amount of the modification from the military branch’s fiscal 2016 aircraft procurement funds at the time of award.
