The electronics and border security arm of Airbus‘ defense and space business has introduced a new portable jamming system to its portfolio of counter-unmanned aerial vehicle products that detect illicit intrusions of small drones, Trade Arabia reported Tuesday.
The report said the counter-UAV product line, which will be christened as Xpeller at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, will also offer electronic countermeasures in a push to minimize collateral damage risks.
Trade Arabia noted that a GEW Technologies-developed lightweight jamming system was added to the Xpeller product line to complete a capacity range of the existing portfolio which includes future Hensoldt products such as infrared cameras, long-range jammers and radars.
Thomas Muller, Airbus DS EBS CEO, said that the company has teamed up with partners to create a modular counter-UAV system designed to offer versatility for maximum protection under various conditions.
