KBR has landed a five-year subcontract from Scientific Management Associates to help the latter provide technical training support services to the Australian navy at the HMAS Cerberus navy training establishment.
KBR said Thursday the contract will cover the design and delivery of constructive, live and virtual training environments and training management systems in support of efforts to boost training outcomes and student engagement.
Rob Hawketts, vice president of KBR’s Asia-Pacific government services business, said the company will work with SMA and the Australian navy as part of an initiative to build readiness while reducing burden to the naval fleet.
The company also secured a five-year contract from the Australian navy in May to update the training system that crews use in preparation for missions aboard the Canberra-class Landing Helicopter Dock ships.
