The U.S. Air Force plans to host a two-day forum in November to inform government and contractor personnel about the potential applications of open architecture in procurement efforts.
The Open Mission Systems/UAS Command and Control Initiative Industry Days will take place at the Hope Hotel in Dayton, Ohio on Nov. 15 and 16, according to a notice posted Friday on FedBizOpps website.
The event seeks to educate agency personnel on why and how should they incorporate OMS/UCI into their acquisition strategies as well as offer vendors technical information meant to help them use OMS/UCI tools for system development.
The Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office chartered the industry-led OMS program as part of efforts to develop and demonstrate a concensus-based, non-proprietary, open architecture for subsystem and services integration into airborne platforms, the notice states.
