Rockwell Collins has formed a new business group that will provide connectivity and flight planning services to government aviation customers worldwide.
The new government aviation services group within Rockwell Collins’ information management services unit aims to help clients schedule airborne assets on short notice and deliver field data to aircrews during operation, the company said Wednesday.
The GAS organization will also offer satellite communications, cockpit connectivity, international trip support and flight operations management software.
Jeff Johnson, senior director for GAS at Rockwell Collins, said the company aims to provide government clients access to customized aviation services through the new business group.
Rockwell Collins was awarded a contract by the Federal Aviation Administration to provide ARINCDirectSM flight planning, scheduling, tracking, safety management and data link services for the agency’s inspection aircraft fleet.
