CAE has received contracts valued at approximately $77 million to provide flight simulation products and training services in support of military clients.
The company said Thursday the awards include two contracts from Lockheed Martin and an order from L-3 Communications‘ L-3 MAS subsidiary to support the U.K.’s Military Flying Training System program and the Canadian air force.
“We are particularly pleased to once again be selected to provide synthetic training equipment for the UK MFTS program as well as demonstrating the recurring business we have to support the RCAF with long-term services,” said Gene Colabatistto, CAE group president for defense and security.
CAE will supply seven flight training devices and a command and tactics trainer for Airbus-built H135/H145 helicopters under a contract with Lockheed to support pilot training for the U.K. air force, army and navy under the MFTS program.
CAE said it will deliver the training devices to Royal Air Force Base Shawbury in 2018.
Lockheed also awarded a potential 10-year contract to CAE that extends the latter’s maintenance and support services for the Canadian air force’s CC-130J fuselage training devices, integrated cockpit systems training device and virtual maintenance trainers.
The contract also covers schoolhouse support staff, training device spares, hardware and software engineering, courseware updates and obsolescence management for the C-130JÂ aircraft maintenance technician training program.
The order from L-3 MAS covers avionics software upgrades, integrated logistics support and data management services for the CF-18 aircraft of Canada’s air force, CAE said.
