Helomics has secured a Federal Supply Schedule contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide access to the ChemoFx tumor profiling test for all government healthcare facilities.
The Pittsburgh-based personalized healthcare company said Thursday ChemoFx is designed to supply tumor-specific information for clinicians to identify suitable chemotherapies and drugs for patients with tumor.
Helomics President and CEO Neil Campbell said the test uses live cell tissue samples to give cancer patients personalized information on the effects that different chemotherapy could have on their cancer.
Campbell added the contract will help expand access to ChemoFx for government institutions including those that aid veterans and soldiers.
