Waukesha County, Wisconsin has adopted Motorola Solutions‘ Emergency CallWorks CallStation platform in an effort to upgrade the jurisdiction’s public safety communication networks to a “next-generation” 911 setup.
The Emergency CallWorks CallStation is a browser-based platform designed to include call taking, incident management and call mapping functions, Motorola said Thursday.
The company noted that the system works to determine the location of the caller through its interactive map, prioritize calls received by the network and transfer calls within a single click.
“Public safety dispatchers are often the first point of contact when citizens have an emergency, so immediately knowing where the call is coming from can save time and potentially save lives,†said Gary Bell, Waukesha County Communications director.
“Emergency CallWorks CallStation helps police, fire and other first responders better manage critical incidents by allowing more information to flow from the public to emergency personnel,†said Tom Guthrie, Motorola Solutions’ smart public safety solutions vice president.
