General Atomics unveiled its new facility at Cummings Research Park in Huntsville, Alabama, on May 6 in support of efforts to expand its operations in the region.
Scott Forney, president of General Atomics’ electromagnetic systems group, said in a release posted Thursday the company’s expansion in the Huntsville area works to drive technology development by developing and building on business associations and community relationships.
“Huntsville represents a key center of excellence for U.S. space and defense technology research and development,” Forney added.
Attendees at the ribbon-cutting ceremony include Neal Blue, chairman and CEO of the company, and local community and state officials such as Huntsville Mayor Thomas Battle Jr., Rep. Michael Rogers (R-Alabama) and Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama).
