An L-3 Communications subsidiary has received a $21.3 million contract to produce signal analysis system outboard cables for the U.S. Navy‘s submarine platforms.
The Defense Department said Wednesday L-3 Unidyne will manufacture the outboard cables in Norfolk, Virginia, through April 2021.
The Navy will use the technology to support systems that work to analyze signals, prevent ship collision, perform passive acoustic intercept and provide acoustic communications, DoD added.
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division received three bids for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract via the Federal Business Opportunities website.
