Deloitte, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Datawheel have launched a new visualization engine to display U.S. public data.
MIT’s Macro Connections Group partnered with Deloitte and Datawheel to develop Data USA that works to aggregate and visualize data from multiple sources including government agencies such as Commerce Department, Labor Deparment and Education Department, Deloitte said Monday.
“The U.S. government offers almost 200,000 data sets for public use, often out of reach for the average citizen,” said Cesar Hidalgo, a director at Macro Connections.
“Data USA transforms these datasets into stories, pioneering a new breed of user-friendly government data sites.”
Data USA will also aim to assist business owners, students, policymakers and public health professionals for issues such as location research to determine cost-efficient real estate and highest earning potential or behavioral disease patterns.
