Lockheed Martin has completed work to relocate its Tactical Missile System production line to the company’s Camden, Arkansas-based facility.
The relocation began in 2014 after the company suspended TACMS production at a facility near El Paso, Texas and planned to integrate its Precision Fires missile and rocket production in Camden, Lockheed said Tuesday.
“Restarting the TACMS production is excellent news for our customers seeking deep precision fire support,†said Ken Musculus, vice president of tactical missiles at Lockheed’s missiles and fire control business.
The missiles fire from MLRS launchers such as the high-mobility artillery rocket system and cover an approximate 186-mile range of firepower.
Each missile is contained in a MLRS launch pod.
