CA Technologies has been selected by a British meteorological department to provide an application programming interface management system that will work to help the agency deliver weather data services via cloud computing and mobile apps.
The Met Office will use CA’s API Management platform to share weather observations and forecasts with military organizations, companies and the general public, the company said Thursday.
Milko Van Duijl, senior vice president of CA Technologies’ U.K. and Ireland operations, said the company seeks to help the British agency implement digital services.
The company has partnered with Computacenter to deploy the API Management system at the Met Office.
The agency adopted the platform in order to launch mobile-based services for the military, energy, retail and aviation sectors to make decisions based on meteorological data.
