Boeing will provide P-8AÂ maintenance training devices to the Australian air force in an effort to prepare the crew to support the P-8A aircraft.
“This provides the [Royal Australian Air Force] with the ability to train its maintainers on more than 1,400 maintenance procedures using the Boeing-provided suite of devices,” Tom Wagner, Boeing’s P-8A maintenance program manager, said in a statement released Wednesday.
This training equipment order follows a $2.5 billion contract awarded to Boeing earlier this year.
The Australian air force will begin deployment of the P-8A maintenance training system in 2018.
