Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. subsidiary AMI Metals has received $100 million in aluminum plate orders from BAE Systems for use in the F-35 joint strike fighter, Hawk and Typhoon programs.
AMI Metals will supply cut-to-size and cut-to-shape products to BAE Systems under the five-year contract, Reliance Steel & Aluminum said Tuesday.
“After completing a detailed and extensive sourcing process we are pleased to confirm that AMI Metals has been selected as our strategic partner for aluminum plate,” said Tony McMahon, strategic supplier manager of BAE Systems.
AMI Metals previously received a $300 million contract from Lockheed Martin to produce aluminum products for the F-35 program.
