A Cubic business unit has received a five-and-a-half-year, $52 million contract to update the back office for the New Hampshire Transportation Department’s electronic toll-collection system.
Cubic Transportation Systems has begun to develop, test and install the new back office for NHDOT’s E-ZPass system, with initial operation scheduled in 2016, Cubic said Monday.
“We look forward to establishing a collaborative partnership with NHDOT and are committed to meeting the agency’s goals and priorities, and those of their customers,†said Matthew Cole, president of Cubic’s transportation systems unit.
Cubic says it anticipates the project to open up to 50 new jobs.
The company will operate and maintain the system for an additional four and a half years, with up to three additional three-year options.
NHDOT uses the E-ZPass system for billing, collection, enforcement and customer service operations.
