AT&T has been awarded a five-year contract to help the U.S. Census Bureau capture and disseminate statistics in mobile devices through the company’s 4G LTE technology.
The company said Monday will also provide an Internet of Things management platform for the bureau to manage its wireless network usage.
Mike Leff, vice president of AT&T’s civilian government business, said the company aims to help transform the Census Bureau’s survey data collection programs through mobility and IoT platforms.
The bureau chose the AT&T’s IoT management technology to manage, set up and activate SIM cards.
