Lockheed Martin Aeronautics unit will provide sustainment and logistical services to the C-5M reengining program geared to enhance C-5M’s strategic capability, the Department of Defense said Friday. The company will work on the contract at Marietta, Georgia, with completion expected by May 31, 2026.
A funding of approximately $27.5 million from the Air Force’s fiscal year 2025 operation and maintenance budget is being obligated at the time of the award.
Previous Contracts on Earlier C-5 Variant
The award builds on Lockheed Martin’s two previous contracts for the Air Force transport fleet’s earlier C-5 variant—a $129.4 million logistics support contract awarded in January 2021 and a $131.6 million award in January 2019 for sustaining engineering work.
