BAE Systems introduced new M-Code Global Positioning System receivers during the Joint Navigation Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The next-generation M-Code receivers are designed for airborne, weapon and ground platforms, BAE said Tuesday. The new product series includes ASR-M, DIGAR-300M, MPE-M, MicroGRAM-M, NavFire-M, NavGuide, NavStrike-M, NavStorm-M and SABR-M.

Deliveries of NavGuide are expected to begin within the year.

Remarks by BAE’s Luke Bishop

According to Luke Bishop, director of navigation and sensor systems at BAE, the new product line will provide an M-Code version for every GPS receiver built by the company.

“The open-architecture capability of our products can be tailored to solve our customers’ most pressing battlefield problems quickly and at an affordable price,” Bishop explained.

M-Code is a military GPS signal that improves anti-jamming capabilities and enhances security. BAE’s common GPS module implements the M-Code signal across a comprehensive GPS receiver line, including on systems with integrated anti-jam antenna electronics for contested environments. Currently, the M-Code GPS receivers are provided to the U.S. military and its partners through foreign military sales.

Ensuring Resilience of GPS Signals

Along with the new M-Code line, BAE will also deliver advanced GPS products based on Military GPS User Equipment Increment 2 technology, which aims to improve the performance of military position, navigation, and timing equipment and ensure resilience of GPS signals.
