Defense technology company Palantir is further enhancing its Foundry system’s capability to automate decision making of federal customers through access to the data-labeling services of startup Enabled Intelligence under a partnership between the two companies, DefenseScoop reported Wednesday.
The partnership aims to provide Foundry users with higher-quality datasets for improved accuracy in building artificial intelligence models.
Rapid Data Annotation Design
Peter Kant, Enabled Intelligence CEO, told DefenseScoop that the company can deliver multiple annotated data types, including satellite images, video, audio and text, more rapidly than its competitors.
“We focus a lot on the quality and the accuracy of the data,” Kant said. “The better quality of the labeled data, the better and more reliable the AI model is going to be,” the company executive added.
More Streamlined AI Modeling Approach
“By bringing the Palantir platform and Enabled Intelligence’s labeling services together in highly secured environments, we believe this will streamline the full cycle of AI model creation and deployment, ensuring that our clients can leverage more precise and actionable insights from their data,” Josh Zavilla, head of Palantir’s national security arm, said in a statement to DefenseScoop.
Under the partnership, Foundry’s users in the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community can send specific datasets that may need additional labeling directly to Enabled Intelligence analysts, Kant explained. The company will send back the annotated data to customers through Palantir’s Foundry.
High FedRAMP Authorization
The software-based data analytics platform Foundry automates decision making through AI and machine learning. The system, along with all other cloud-hosted systems in Palantir’s product portfolio, secured high baseline authorization under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program in December.
In another Foundry hookup, global consultancy firm Guidehouse partnered with Palantir in June 2022 on using the platform for the former’s public sector customers’ requirements on data integration, image sourcing and AI model training.
