Riverside Research Institute has been awarded a $48.9 million contract by the U.S. Air Force for electromagnetic spectrum enhancement.

Contract Specifications

The Department of Defense said Friday under the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract, the Fairfax, Virginia-based nonprofit organization will provide services to enhance different EM spectrum systems or infrastructures.

Riverside Research will work on the project at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. The competitively acquired contract is anticipated to be completed by Jan. 24, 2030.

The Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate is the contracting activity. It will obligate $4.5 million from the Air Force’s fiscal year 2024 research and development funds and $825,000 from fiscal year 2025 R&D funds.

Riverside Research Institute is one of 27 organizations awarded a $950 million contract by the Air Force in July 2022 to develop systems across land, air, sea, space, electromagnetic spectrum and cyber domains for the Joint All Domain Command and Control.
